Virginia Foxx Has Primary Challenger!

March 4, 2014

This news has made my day!

Before you challenge my “republican” status, hear me out.  Because really…I am a true conservative and  I think Ms. Foxx is a lovely woman.  I’ve been to her fund raisers and ponied up the cash.  I’ve written good things about her.  I’ve shared my political concerns with her office on many occasions.  I even had one of her staff at my home for a neighborhood program because the grand dame herself was unavailable.

Unfortunately “lovely” is not getting the job done.  I don’t know if she is tired or just doesn’t care anymore but our U.S. Constitution is SUFFERING under her tutelage.

The first issue I had with Foxx was her refusal to stem the flow of blood in the debt ceiling debacle.  Her vote on S.677 and S.365 was instrumental in the downgrade of the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+.  She fell for the Reid Bait and Switch from S.677 to S.365, and voted yes to a rewritten spending bill that unconstitutionally originated from the Senate and allowed a debt increase.

If Foxx had done her job, we might not be facing today’s US debt of 17.5 trillion dollars and reduced credit rating.

I also have an issue with Foxx’ support of PATRIOT EXTENSION ACT of 2011.  She voted YES on S.990 to extend the Sunset clause of the
Patriot Act.  Both Dems and Republicans have taken issue with this act that infringes upon our right to privacy.

Had Ms. Foxx done her job and voted against this act, there might be no “Edward Snowden” issue and protections for citizens against NSA type government snooping, wiretapping, etc.

Lest we forget, Ms Foxx voted in favor of Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011.  This law permits Secret Service agents to designate any place they wish
as a place where free speech, association and petition of the government
are prohibited. And it permits the Secret Service to make these
determinations based on the content of speech.

This law is in direct contradiction with our 1st amendment freedom of speech, the freedom of association and the freedom to petition the government for a redress of grievances.  She was not concerned with what happens if your right to associate and to petition the government
is confined to areas where those of like mind and the government are not
present.

Last but not least…I take issue with her part in the lack of a Congressional
Constitutional vetting process of Barack Obama, specifically Article 2,
Section 1 to do with presidential eligibility.  I spoke with her face to face at aYadkinville fundraiser in 2008, and she literally paled at my suggestion that it was her duty to Constitutionally vet Obama.  Honestly…I detected fear.  Maybe I’m nuts, but I thought she responded “scared.”

It’s
OK to be scared.  I’m a girl and I get scared too.  But there a
difference between scared and cowardice.  Unfortunately, politics is not
the place for someone who doesn’t have the courage to demand that rule
of law and Constitutional guidelines reign supreme.

If
Congress and Foxx had done their jobs in vetting this ineligible man,
we might not be looking at the national mess international mess made by a president who’s
loyalties are divided.

Our country has fallen apart under her watch.  Rule of law has been usurped by unconstitutional executive authority illegally exercised via the presidential pen and phone.  Our economy has been destroyed via unconstitutional power grabs of entire economic sectors while forcing citizens to participate in unconstitutional mandates and bailouts,.  Our world is on the brink of WWIII with Russia.  Obama responds by declaring “happy hour” for Democrats “because I am the president and I have that authority,” while not being bothered to attend National Security meetings on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Congress has allowed a foreign, unvetted, ineligible Marxist community organizer to run roughshod over the Constitution while Virginia Foxx’s House has FUNDED his and his thug administration’s activities.   Our taxes pay for unconstitutional health care mandates, 4 million dollar presidential vacations and $12,000 designer dresses and Ms. Foxx’s office tells me, there is nothing they can do because “we don’t have the Senate.”  Well, what about the House purse strings?  Can you close down the national wallet?

Obama promised, on Foxx’s watch, to fundamentally transform America.  Transform he has done.  Our unprotected borders are an open door for illegals and terrorists while government officials run guns and cause the death of border agents (Fast and Furious.)  Our Benghazi ambassador and numerous Navy Seals are dead while government officials responsible are somehow immune from prosecution.  Citizens are targeted and harassed by out of control government regulators (IRS) who act as jackboots for Obama’s corrupt administration.  Our military is being cut to pre-WWII levels, threatening our national security, yet soldiers are allowed to hold sodomite drag shows to up the morale of sexually confused soldiers. Our Healthcare is destroyed, people are dying because their health care insurance became “illegal,” and Obama’s minion, Harry Reid responds with accusation the sick are lying.

No.  All of this is not Virginia Foxx’s fault.  She is only one of many responsible.  Again, her excuse would be “there is nothing I can do.  Republicans do not have the Senate.”  My response is always “if those we have elected to effect government are not in the position to CREATE change, then who is?”  Ted Cruz has managed to stand for the Constitution without the Senate, as has Mike Lee, and others.

A lot has happened on Virginia’s watch.  She was suppose to exercise courage in the administration of her duties on behalf of District 5.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)

In my opinion, Virginia Foxx has failed because she has accomplished nothing. She was not an agent for change nor was she effective in slowing down the marxist agenda of the democrats. I welcome her challenger.

His name is Philip Doyle.
