Guess What I Saw Out My Window This Morning!

For all my fellow patrtiots who have experienced a “bump in the road” or a disappointment over the last few days. Take heed. Perception is EVERYTHING!!

A friend shared some thoughts with me today. Allow me to share them with you!

‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.

Why are you still reading? Stop! Seriously, I want you to think about that sentence, especially the part “you have to do something you never did.” Have YOU done something for the first time? Have you tried something new and experienced or perceived failure on your part? Now…stop it, don’t judge yourself. I want you to remove yourself from the “emotion” of the perceived loss and look at the reality of the attempt to gain. Did you do your best? Did you honor the Lord?

OK, I think you got that part. Now I want you to change your focus to this next statement. Open your heart FIRST. (That means now!) and read this,

When God takes something from your grasp, He is not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Do you feel it? That sense of relief. IT IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! It is about what God has done! “God takes” and “He is.” The word “is”, grammatically speaking, is an active and present tense verb. Our God is active and present in our lives!

We humans tend to get confused. We forget that Satan is counting on us to succumb to our emotions. We forget that Satan would have us believe that our lives are separate from God’s will. We forget that what WE think we need is not necessarily what God knows is best for us. We see “empty hands” yet God sees hands prepared to take up something bigger.

I cannot help but laugh with joy at the infinite grace and mercy of our Lord! He loves his children so much that he will not allow us to settle for second best!

My friend’s letter ended on a more serious note. It went on to say:

‘The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.’

We may never know from what God is protecting us. However, as long as we remain in His Will, we can be assured of His Protection.

Before I close, allow me to share what I saw outside my window this morning. The sun came up! Yep. The sun, right on time, peaked over the horizon! Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may never come. But today…the sun rose, the birds kept singing, the dew sparkled on upturned leaves, the cat wanted out, and the Lord made his presence known! God’s universe is in order! Our personal universe may be filled with mayhem and trifling, fear and disappointment. But God’s infinity…is now and forever in order.

Can you imagine being responsible for making the sun rise? No effort, no strength, no power but God’s can raise it! Just as we are blessed to bask in the light of God’s sun this glorious day, let us be reminded that God’s Son will be our everlasting comfort and protection. This glorious day of our Lord, this very blessed minute, is our opportunity to focus on the light of Jesus rather than the darkness of disappointment. Smile. Say a prayer. Hug someone. See…what did I tell ya…while reading this, that last 10 seconds disappeared FOREVER! Don’t waste anymore time! Rodney took this picture while we visited family in Maine…isn’t it amazing!
