Illinois Caught In It’s Own Hate Crime Trap: GOP Candidate Kelly Steps Up to the Plate!

When Republican William J. Kelly became a candidate for Illinois comptroller, it was required of him to travel within the Illinois State Capital building. Posted on these hallowed walls was a HATE sign posted by the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Mr. Kelly not only physically turned the sign over to hide it’s hateful words, he filed a lawsuit stating “We need to stop the hate speech against Christians and all religious people,” Kelly said in a statement released along with the announcement about the lawsuit. “It is this attitude of hate that has enabled the stripping of religion, tradition, and history from our holidays, our history books, and our culture in general. Perhaps the atheists need some sensitivity training.”

The lawsuit specifically claims “The totality of the language of the sign is hostile and inflammatory to all religions, including but not limited to Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism, Islam and others that worship God and/or believe in the concepts heaven and hell.”

Here is hoping this spoonful of their own medicine goes down hard. That’s the problem with these double edged laws that the socialists can’t seem to figure out. Once they enact government laws that can take away one man’s freedom (because that man’s use of freedom “offends” them), they provide us the vehicle to take away their freedom as well. Unfortunately everyone ends up enslaved under the law.

“See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Rom 9:33 (NIV)
