North Carolina Dem David Price is a PORK GURU

Hot Air » Blog Archive » Another example of waste and abuse:

“What does $10 million in Congressional pork buy? Lots of bureaucrats and a pat on the back from constituents, instead of a kick somewhere farther south. The Raleigh News-Observer reports that an earmark pushed by Rep. David Price (D-NC) intended, supposedly, to increase services to North Carolinian National Guard families has spent $7.3 million over the last five years and helped next to no one — except bureaucrats and Price’s hometown university:”

In 2004, U.S. Rep. David Price inserted a $10 million program into the federal budget, sending the money to UNC-Chapel Hill for a new effort to help deployed soldiers of the National Guard and Army Reserves.

Five years later, the Citizen Soldier Support Program has spent $7.3 million, but the money has accomplished little for the people it was supposed to help. One-quarter of the money has gone to the university for overhead, and a large part of the rest has been spent on well-paid consultants, six-figure salaries and travel.

Half of the eight full-time employees are paid more than $100,000 a year, including a deputy director who has been reimbursed $76,000 for food, travel and lodging when she commutes from her home in northern Virginia to North Carolina.
An internal review found that the program produced reams of paperwork but few concrete results.

Stringing and Strowing says: Shame on you Rep. Price. You ARE the politician that we intend to get rid of come next election. Hope you have a job outside of the “gubment.” We are going to FIRE YOU!!!!

WHO IS DAVID PRICE AND HOW DOES HIS BELIEF SYSTEM AFFECT NORTH CAROLINA?
U.S. Congressman David Price – 4th District of North Carolina – Biography Section:

Stringing and Strowing has taken the liberty to highlight areas in Price’s history/family that are INHERENTLY dangerous to North Carolina, Christians, and to the US Constitution. In my opinion, most apples do not fall far from the tree and reveal a family belief system.

Mr. Price represents the 4th district (Triangle area) of North Carolina.

“Born in 1940, Price grew up in the small town of Erwin in East Tennessee. His father was a high school principal and his mother was an English teacher.

Price studied at Mars Hill College and was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). He earned his B.A. there in 1961, and continued his education at Yale University, where he received a Bachelor of Divinity degree (1964) and a Ph.D. in Political Science (1969).

Price and his wife Lisa were married in 1968. Lisa is the former Executive Director of North Carolinians Against Gun Violence. They have two grown children: Karen, a filmmaker based in Los Angeles; and Michael, who teaches evolutionary psychology at Brunel University in London. Michael is married to the former Jade Gibson of Fredericksburg, VA, and they are the parents of the Prices’ first grandchild, Charles Albert, who was born on June 2, 2006.

Price is a member of Binkley Memorial Baptist Church, where he has taught Sunday School and chaired the official board.

I find Price’s affiliation with a Baptist church interesting since his son teaches Evolutionary psychology. Price himself was named a “Champion of Science” by the Science Coalition in 2002 and 2004.

According to Wikipedia (EP) attempts to explain psychological traits as the functional products of natural selection or sexual selection.

That’s evolution folks. Plain and simple. A Baptist, Yale educated politician, a gun hating wife, a film-maker daughter, and a “natural selection” teaching son… North Carolina is in great danger from this CAREER politician.

“Price told the crowd at NC Central University he supports many of the President’s health care proposals – including some kind of public option that would compete with private insurance companies.” In his published remarks from an Environment North Carolina Press Conference, Price stated “…global warming poses a serious threat and needs to be tackled immediately with a cap and trade system to reduce carbon emissions.

This one is NOT a Keeper.
