Democratic fundraiser accused of $292M loan fraud – On Deadline – USATODAY.com:

“A top Democratic fundraiser was indicted today for allegedly defrauding three banks out of $292 million in loans to make donations to candidates and to buy property in Italy.
Hassan Nemazee, 59, a New York businessman, raised money for President Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton and served as finance chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

He is accused of fraudulently obtaining loans from Citibank, Bank of American and HSBC with fake documents showing he had tens of millions of dollars in collateral.
